As I just received my Audiophileimports Email Updates today, I came accross a new release by an unkown guitar player named Yves Nadeau (never heard of him before). The players on that CD are the "creme de la creme" of the Montreal Jazz scene, one of them being my drum hero, Paul Brochu.

It had been a while I wanted HOD to be exposed to this musician's drummer but never had significant links to Post before until now. His name has been mentionned several times on this board, so to avoid repetition, just use the search feature on top. One significant was that Don Alias had once chosen him to be his drummer to Tour Europe for his solos project a while back, but the Tour never materialised unfortunately...

Anyhoo, here are some short MP3 sample of him interpreting various styles. So here's my personnal Tribute to a major personnal inspiration.

Joe's Blues

Futur

Ensalada De Ritmos

Matavalse

Open String

What Is This Thing Called Life

Avril

Logarythme

Awesome find Beat!
Paul is like good wine, he gets better with age.
Killer line-up too:
Paul, Alain Caron, J.-P. Zanella,...

Speaking of Alain Caron, I saw him play a gig here a couple of weekends back...WOW!!!! That guy is an amazing bass player...pretty wicked fusion gig with three other local musicians....if you ever get a chance to see Alain play, I highly recommend watching him!!!

Anyone who's list of 'who's who' to have played with includes Vanelli & Zawinul [AWA Uzeb] is pretty much 'in' in my book! ...heck, with that resume alone, you don't even have to have heard them to know they're a great player.
I've only just watched the vid...nice jam in 11/8.
